RICK PARFITT JNR AND TOM OLIPHANT JOIN TEAM LNT FOR BRITISH GT

Posted on 20th January 2015

Team LNT can today confirm entry of a second Ginetta G55 GT3 car into British GT for 2015, as Rick Parfitt Jnr and Tom Oliphant join the factory team.

The pair, who will join previously announced teammates Mike Simpson and Steve Tandy at Team LNT, graduate to GT3 machinery for the first time this season, having previously competed behind the wheel of the Ginetta G55 GT4 car.

2015 will be Oliphant’s second full season with Ginetta, and he will be once again dovetailing his British GT entry with a full season in the British Touring Car Championship support series, the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup

Oliphant said;“I’m am very pleased that Rick and I are joining Team LNT for our 2015 British GT campaign, having proven our partnership in the GT4 class, it was a natural progression to move up to GT3 and remain in the Ginetta G55. I will be also be competing in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and as an aspiring pro driver I feel it gives a real advantage to have a range of championships under the belt.”

Parfitt Jnr began his Ginetta journey behind the wheel of a Ginetta G40 as part of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, before graduating into British GT4 in 2013, where he took the championship title in his first year of competition.

Parfitt Jnr added;“I am excited and honoured to be part of the factory Ginetta British GT3 assault in 2015. For me, GT3 is the natural progression for my racing career and Ginetta is my spiritual home, having come through the ranks with them. It will be a tough learning year for me, but Tom and I are a formidable pairing as we showed last year in GT4, we work extremely well together and both he and I have been quick in testing, so the aim is to surprise people and ruffle as many feathers as possible!”

Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta Cars said;“We are delighted to announce Rick and Tom as the second driver pairing for Team LNT in 2015 as they were a force to be reckoned with in British GT4 last season. Tom is a great example of how versatile the Ginetta G55 GT4 is, having contested two of the UK’s biggest championships in the car in 2014, whilst Rick is a prime example of how the Ginetta career ladder works, having graduated through the ranks and enjoyed success in the Ginetta G40 and Ginetta G55 before progressing into the Ginetta G55 GT3.”

The Ginetta G55 GT3 car offers natural progression from the single-make Ginetta Championships and the driving seat of the multi-disciplined Ginetta G40 or Ginetta G55 GT4 car, into a whole new level of GT racing and aligns itself perfectly alongside the newly announced Ginetta-Juno LMP3 car atop the Ginetta motorsport career ladder.
